 2016 Preview 


       Susan Moore completed the 2015 season with a 4-7 record. With their 4-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 3A region five, the Bulldogs earned a spot in the playoffs in 2015. Susan Moore's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to North Sand Mountain by a score of 27-13.

       It marked the first time since the 2012 season that the Bulldogs qualified for the playoffs.

       Since 2010, Susan Moore has gone a combined 27-36. Their 43.0% winning percentage ranks 35th in Class 3A over the past six seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Susan Moore has managed to compile a record of 150-124. Their 55.0% winning percentage ranks 23rd in Class 3A and 128th in the AHSAA.

       The Bulldogs are led by head coach Ken Adams who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 4-7 record in his first season at Susan Moore. Under his direction the Bulldogs have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Adams.

       Coach Adams' overall record as a head football coach in nineteen season stands at 112-96 (53.8%). His 112 wins rank 43rd among active coaches in the AHSAA. Over the course of his career, Coach Adams' teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of eleven times and won four region championships.

       The Susan Moore Bulldogs will play in Class 3A region six during the 2016 season. Following realignment, the Bulldogs remain in 3A but move from region five over to region six.

       Overall, the region is among the weakest in the state. Qualifying for one of the playoffs spots could be a little easier. The Bulldogs will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region six this season.

       The Bulldogs open the 2016 season on the road against non-region opponent West End Walnut Grove on Thursday, August 25 at Patriot Stadium. Last year the West End Walnut Grove Patriots finished with an overall record of 6-4 and in fifth place in Class 2A region seven. The Patriots ended last season on a positive note with a win over Appalachian by a score of 48-15 after failing to gain a playoff spot.

       Susan Moore and West End Walnut Grove have met a total of 43 times on the football field. The Bulldogs have a 19-24-0 record against the Patriots. They last met in 2015 with West End Walnut Grove winning by a score of 41-28.
